Assumptions
- Mailchimp Standard, billed monthly, all stored contacts counted (incl. unsubscribed until archived).
- MailerLite Comfort, from mailerlite.com/pricing (checked 2 Nov 2026): $19 billed monthly / $17.10 billed yearly at 1,000 subscribers, rising to $439 / $395.10 at 100,000. Comfort allows 10 monthly emails per subscriber; Power (unlimited emails) costs more ($69 / $62.10 at 5,000). All 19 Comfort tiers from 1,000 to 100,000 are included; a count between two tiers is priced at the higher one, as on MailerLite's own calculator.
CSV header mapper
Rename exported Mailchimp column headers to suggested MailerLite column names, for reporting or manual data preparation. Not an official MailerLite import format. It runs in your browser. Headers are renamed and the values in kept columns stay unchanged; columns that look like passwords or other secrets are removed.
Renamed headers do not make a file import-ready. Check whether and how MailerLite accepts such data before importing, and create any custom fields there first. For contact lists, check opt-out and unsubscribe status separately before importing.
| Mailchimp column | MailerLite column | Field type |
|---|---|---|
| Email Address | Suggested | |
| First Name | Name | Suggested |
| Last Name | Last name | Suggested |
| Phone Number | Phone | Suggested |
| TAGS | mailchimp_tags | Custom field, create it first |

When staying on Mailchimp is the better call
- The one-time migration, re-integration or retraining cost is larger than 12 to 24 months of savings.
- You are inside a multi-year Mailchimp contract with early-termination fees.
- Your workflow relies on add-ons or features MailerLite does not support yet.
How the result changes with volume
Twelve-month totals at half, the same and double the volume you entered above, with the other settings you chose (plan, billing, multiplier, switching and extra costs).
| Volume (Subscribers / Contacts) | Mailchimp | MailerLite | 12-month difference |
|---|---|---|---|
| 50% volume (7,500) | $135/mo | $69/mo | +$292 |
| Your volume (15,000) | $230/mo | $129/mo | +$712 |
| 200% volume (30,000) | $450/mo | $229/mo | +$2,152 |
≈ = above the last published price tier, so the amount is extrapolated.
Questions
How is the total cost of Mailchimp and MailerLite compared?
Each side's monthly cost is multiplied by the months in the horizon, and the one-time switching cost is added to MailerLite. At the default volume (Subscribers / Contacts: 15,000), the model gives about $230 per month for Mailchimp and $129 per month for MailerLite.
How do Mailchimp CSV headers map to MailerLite?
The mapper renames Mailchimp columns (Email Address, First Name, Last Name, Phone Number, TAGS) to MailerLite columns (Email, Name, Last name, Phone, mailchimp_tags) in your browser. Custom fields must exist in MailerLite before you import.
When should a company stay on Mailchimp?
Stay if the one-time switching, integration or contract-exit cost is larger than the savings over the horizon you care about. The calculator shows that case as a negative result.
